How do I keep my boat from diving?

I have the Delta Force Vortex with the following equipment in it.

    1. 1800 kv sv27 brushless motor
    2. Aquacraft 45 amp sv27 esc
    3. 2x4600mah ni-mh batteries
    4. octura x430 prop
    5. sv27 turn fin

I've put that motor and esc into her cause i wanted to test her out before i put the feigao motor and etti esc into her. I find that even though the front of the hull is out of the water and the back is nearly in the water. when I give her some juice she lifts up the back and submarines. I've been told to find out if my prop is a lifting prop and from what I can tell this prop should work fine. So how do I make sure that my hardware is all angled the way it should be and what things should I keep in mind?
HK Genesis, DF Vortex, Baja 5T, Lazer ZX-5 sp, XXX, 8T, P51-D Mustang Shangrila, GP Giant P51-D Mustang, Blade 400 3D, with way too many more to list.

What HW set is installed? Can you post a pic of the strut angle?

Prop looks fine, I'd say it might be the strut angle. Can you adjust that?

Other than that, maybe check the center of balance, if that is a mono hull then about 1/3 from the transom is a good place to start (adjust by moving the battery packs)

wow... 2 4600 nimh 6 cell packs if that what you mean is alot of weight on the front of a df vortex... I run mine and she likes to dive too with only 2 3000mah 3s packs in parallell.... I give it a little gas... let off.... then puch it... when she gets on plane she handles on rails... normal for these boats... but with heavy nimh packs she is bound to only wanna dive? Tell me gents if I am wrong on this...

That prop is way too small too. It prob. wont hop on plane very well. That coupled with heavy packs = submarine. Prop up to a x440 for starters and ditch the nimh.

to much weight forward and not enough prop, 440 like rumdog said or a 42x55. go to 4s 4200-5000mah lipo on a 42x55 it will probably be more power than the boat will handle

What sort of overall weight should I be looking for as a start or finish point?

Why do you say the prop is too small?
Not a big enough motor to drive it? cause I do have an 8 and 6XL motor that will go into the boat once the testing is done.

I could be wrong, but isn't the rudder a bit too long? As in an inch ore more too long? I would go only like 1.5 prop diameters under the shaft line...

The prop is far too small for that motor !!!! Get a x642 and some of these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._hardcase_pack and http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...w/_accessories or http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Multi_Charger_

Prop is too small for sure... I will have to check to see what I run on mine.... anyhow I think 2 4200-5000 mah lipos are to big as far as weight goes.. I have run alot of different packs in mine and like the 3000mah size best... for weight reasons..... I run them in the middle of the boat just ahead the motor.... works best for me.... rumdog knows these boats.... I would listen to him for prop recomendations... i forget whats on mine but he was the one that suggested to one I am using and it is ballistic....

Oh also I have a brand new 4s 40-50c turnigy 4000mah 14.8v lipo that is NIB that may interest you? I dont have a use for it and it would work well for a single battery in the middle of your boat ahead of the motor?
