    Help on motor choice please

I have a 30" fiberglass tunnel hull (mfg unknown) that has a K&B converted to electric outdrive. I have a Turnigy 90amp ESC and 4S or 5S Lipos. I thought about a UL-1 motor but they are hard to find right now. Is there a better motor that won't cost an arm and leg? Thanks

Ul-1 motors are I. Stock at kintec and tower. I don't run tunnels so I can't help youthere but I see some using the scorpion out runners as ul-1 equivalents.

Therefore it will eat more amps and put out more watts.

Use the ul-1 or proboat. It would be spec legal for that size hull, not hard on esc or batts. Use 4s, then you can get lots of set-up and prop tips and if you decide to race some day you would have something legal. I do not understand going off in a tanget to non-racing set-ups and then asking advice like 30 guy's run the same stuff. I personally like the bj motor from pro-boat better than thee ul-1, it has more torque and a lot more forgiving on set ups. I use the x437/3 and y537/3 and when set up real loose the x440/3.
