I was looking hard at your pictures rather deeply, Is one of your + wires removed from your Y connector either side L or R? if not you may have harmed the Rx. I want to say Rx all the way, I run the Futaba FASST systems on everything I own ( currently trying to hook the wife up to one ) And I think they are the BEST! But one wrong move and the Rx is junk.... Also have you ever got the Rx wet? Does it hold it's bind to your Tx? I have pluged the backward for one sec and it was junk, barely got one wet and it was junk, one would'nt hold it's bind and caused the boat (SV27) to dive straight down under water..
I may be wrong but I suggest you try a new Rx.Comment

This may soud a little risky, but try quickly accelerating till the boat is on plane. It might still want to steer from side to side, but see if its worse or better than running at low speeds.

Try a different "Y" harness Probably doesn't matter but worth trying.
Also when when you say your connecting the batteries together. Are you connecting both escs to the batteries? Here's how I wire mine.

A good diagonostic tool would be an Eagle Tree Datalogger. This way you could monitor the steering and throttle input to see if there are any funny signals going on. You could monitor the motor RPM of each side to see if the motors are running at different RPM's or synced.
This would help determin if its a radio/esc/motor issue or a hull issue.

Yes, I wired it just like yours. I dont have another Y harness, but I have used the same Y harness in another boat without problems.Comment

I was just looking on Eagle Tree's page and the brushless motor sensors are very reasonable and easy to incorporate.
The controller and steering servo leads just plug in and only need an extension.

I have tried this, and I cant see any problems
Tuslow1 asked if you had removed the red wire from one of the ESC leads that go to the RX. I can't see where you answered him.
Have you? Two different supplies into the RX from two different batteries that can be at two different & varying potentials, is not a good thing.
Hope you get this sorted soon.
All the best.
Paul.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Try that again but with your brother standing 30 or 40 feet away. It may be a range related thing . Make sure the batteries are fresh in the transmitter.

I actually started out with one of the wires disconnected. But then I connected both sice I did not think it would mather. The problem was there before I connected both of the red wires.Comment

How much room do you have between dogdrives and drives ?
Steering : steel-cable through steel tubes ?
As your hull is made from carbon, and the steering is "all" metal : glitches.
Try to insulate the steel tubes from the hull !!
Is your servo ALL metal gear ? Replace by one with at least 1 plastic gear in it !Comment
