a few questions before i begin

    hey gents

i m currently piecing together an order from OSE and i have a few questions about the build.... i figure it s better to ask a few questions before i order up and possibly miss what i need... i m pretty new to this whole game but i have been running a mod SV for the last 3 or so years... goes great on a 9xl (thanks doby!!)

anyway, i m going to build a DF29 (yeah another one)... basically i m thinking about 9xl / turnigy 180 / 4s / and possibly a 42/55 or a 642.. not sure yet... sound like a good combo ?? any suggestions otherwise ?? what i m most unsure about is the drive line... does a 7/32 stuffing tube sound like the best way to do it ??? combine that with an octura flex .150 for 3/16 is what i m thinking... i m going here on what the sv and a number of 4s boats use... any other ways to tackle it ??? boat is purely a fun / fast sport set up to tear up my local lake...

leaning towards using the new black hardware from the sv27R... i like the price and the availability of aquacraft stuff... plus it s been good to me so far... no magic smoke ...

thanks for the help in advance, i m super stoked to get this thing up and running, should be fun...

    cheers

That sounds like a good setup. 7/32 stuffing tube is for a .150 and no teflon, 1/4" for .150 when used with teflon. For hardware I would used a speedmaster 3/16" stinger with speedmaster mini mono rudder.

The df29, 9xl, 180, 4s sounds good. It's a reliable setup. If your going to use a Teflon liner you need to use a 1/4" tube for a .150 flex. 7/32" is for non liner setups. I would start with a 442 and work up on props.

I took too long to type and Steven beat me to it!!

It's up to you. I've use it both ways. No big difference to me.

ok then.. i ll probabally go without teflon liner...

hey steve, will the speedmaster stinger work on the df29?? i notice that the footprint of the stinger is 31mm x 45mm... the transom of the df29 looks small, short freeboard etc... is there enough room to mount a stinger that is 45mm high ??

cheers again fella, the help is much appreciated

thanks bakedmopar... looks nice... do the speedmaster stingers come with bushings or do you need to buy one separate ???

It comes with a bushing. One last tip. Anneal the end of your stuffing tube that exits the hull into the stinger. This makes adjusting alot easier. Have fun with your build.

BTW it's not my boat. It was Fqdawld's but he sold it.

No problem. I can only share info that I've learned through the forum and my own blunders. I beleive he never got around to doing the trim tabs before he sold it.

How about wire drive instead of flex shaft? less resistance=more speed!
