Keep me updated as well, it would be worth the trip to check it out. I've never been to an actual race. There is a NAMBA race Aug 14th in Maine also.

I used to race boats on Squam {or was it Mini Squam) lake in the early 1960's. They were long, pointy, had about 10" of freeboard, 8 oars[men] and a little guy up front with a megaphone !

Check out the NAMBA District 11 site, there is a link to it on the OSE home page. There are a couple in ME and one in Conn I think. Its all gas / nitro stuff but would still be fun to go. I've exchanges a couple e-mails with the director that runs it, seems like a good guy.

bring your electric to a NAMBA district 11 race

They have let an electric run with the Nitro boats once or twice so far. They are very friendly and open. I am learning a lot about what is needed in terms of reliability, control, and steering. So far I have tried OPC once and AB mono once. The OPC may be the best place to learn, since there are fewer Nitro boats to avoid than in AB mono.
