    Question on water pickup..

I am setting up my first cat (MHZ Drifter S) and I am going to set it up just like this picture. My questions are:
    1. What should the"depth" of the pick up be? What part of the hull do I line it up with. It is hard to tell from the picture.
    2. Does this type up set up work ok?

That looks to be a propwash pickup. Once on plane it doesnt actually sit in the water but catches the water comming off the prop. I have used prop washed pickups before with good results. IMO you want the opening in direct relavence of your upper thrust cone (if that makes any sense)

Here are some examples. PS. yes the rudder is bent on the mono. Darn coconuts!

Thanks, yes it does help. So just think of the tip hitting the top of the prop or a little bit higher to catch the water coming off of the thrust cone.

In theory the pickup should be placed between 12 and 3 o'clock... top right quarter.
