Help???have alot of fe hydro's and outrigger!!!

Hey everyone,,hoping for some good advice for a newbi to boats(I have bought a room full,,lol)
i have the following boats and want good solid advice for mild to wicked mods,,having trouble going from 100mph++ on_roads to boats,,whole different concept,,but I am hooked on the boats bad!!!!dont want to burn up esc's and tear any of them slap up,,but just want to step them up some!!!here are the boats i have in brushless!!!

    1) 3 Aquacraft UL-1 superiors--all stock(red, yellow and orange ones) i want to at least mod one for good top speeds,,need help understanding prop sizes versus esc/motor combo's

2)1 ( 1 Proboat Elam Plus--Havent even seen water yet,,,need help on upgrades for this one also?????

3)1 Blizzard Ultra outrigger,,it is complete with hardware, servo,,just need esc, motor and prop!!!!

4)mini sea drifter,,mainly need prop suggestions for good speed without running her too hot on 3' lipo

5)widowmaker 22 brushless,,just selling it ,,want only hydro's,riggers and eventually FE tunnel hull,,,

These are the esc's i have new as extra's,,,,,,,I have a new supervee 27 esc/motor,,extra new UL-1 esc and a Castle 120 hydra with castle bec!!!

I am trying to learn what motors work best with what esc's on what size lipo's,,but wanting great performance,,but not wanting to smoke my esc's or have major heat issues,,,,I cant grasp what the motor sizes are in boats versus my on-road speed cars,,,(what I mean is the kv ratings,,,,example(supervee motor is a B36-56,,what KV is that??/ my ul_1's motor are also 36/56 2030kv's,,so is my blue can supervee motor the same kv???

I hate too ask what seems to be dumb questions,,but my Dad always said if you dont know,,ask somebody,,,I see alot of guys run 6,7,and 8xL motors in their boats as upgrades,,but what is the KV's of these motor and what size esc's and Lipo's are a good solid match for those type motors,,

Just hate to waste money buying high dollar esc's and motors and burning them up or just plain overpowering the boats i have,,just want a couple of good fast boats,,,I love running my UL-1's stock,,but kinda got used to their speeds now and want more,,alot more,,

Is there some kind of site that has a chart of what esc/motor combo work best in certain size hulls and what lipos work best with thee type set ups..my LHS is no help at all..he knows off-roads and thats about it and planes,,,it took me a year or aroun that too learn what esc/motor and lipos to use for my top speed on-roads and it was alot of trials and some errors,,,but i got it now ,,,,,but the boats seem to be a whole different animal to work with,,

I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY GOOD SOUND ADVICE,,I watch alot of you guys video's and people like Propperchopper have been great to speak with just too name one of a few,,im wanting to get ino the boats and eventially build some higher end top speed boats,,,but running fast on pavement versus water is a big difference,,you can just pick your car up if you have mishap,,you can watch you boat bust up and sink,,lol,,and there ges a chunk of change you wont get back,,,

Again,,any good sound advice for good solid upgrades would be appreciated greatly fellow,,,i have 6 nitro hydro's also,,but they are simple enough to figure out on props and heat issues,,,but the brushless i do respect alot more,,so thanks for any good input,,thx again,,Bobby B,,,,,,,,,,,,

How much knowledge and experience do you have with RC boats? How fast a boat have you ever driven? You have a couple hulls capable of 60 plus mph. Advice to go fast is going to hinge upon ability and experience.

        Plenty of driving experience!!!

hey john,,,I just got into the boat about 2 months ago,,,but it came very natural to me for some reason,,,I am used to avg 50mph speeds,,have not rolled or crashed out any of my boats at all as of yet,,,that will happen to us all eventually I am sure of that,,,I have been in Rc on-road and off-roads for 15 years or better and run very high speed brushless on-roads of 100mph+++ speeeds on radar with no use of gyro's or any assistant gear,,,, the 50mph avg with the boats is getting borderline boring, dont get me wrong,,i have a blast just running my boats period,,,but just want to ramp up the speeds some more,,, I mainly just do straigh on passes and oval speed running around,,,which i do realize all my boats are basically all the off the shelf set ups,,,ready to step them up for some 60mph+++,,,,i have a great local publuc pond to run in and water is usually pretty calm,,,have got some choppy days,,but i wont get stupid if I know the boat is going too let loose,,it's not worth the risk,,i am 42 years old and dont know how I managed to not get into the the boats somewhere in the past,,love my rc hobby,,has kept me clean and out of trouble for quite a long time!!!!

I also Drag race motorcycle and couple Hotrods i have have at local drag strip,,so i am petty on top of things as far as safety and knowing my limits with RC and real power cars/bikes!!!
I have just found the boats to be quite a great change in my hobby,,,a little expensive just too jump into a new rc hobby at 1rst,,but i have bought quite a fewin the past couple weeks,,I havent even took the brushless proboat Elam out to run,,just opened her up and checked it over and just got program card for it last week,,but i knew from video's of stock one my UL-1's are already faster,,,
But I need direction in the right way to figure out the esc/motor combo's that work well with each other while giving good strong performace without smoking my esc's and such,,,I have been buying new lipo's lately because most my lipo's are very high c rated for my on-road speed cars,,most are Thunderpower Pro Race series 40c/80c and 50c/100c lipo's,,so i have been buying 30c/60c and 25c.50c 2,3's lipo in pairs lately to have right amps for boats I have,,, also learning what props will give me best speed without killing my esc's also with heat issues,,,
willing to buy good stuff after i learn basics,,,didnt realize how much it differs fron brushless on-road set ups till i started reading and seeing videos of what people use,,just feel a little lost so to speak,,,want to set the outrigger up for straight shot runs,,Been using my Bushnell Radar gun to get decent idea of what my boats avg speeds are,,but i am going to buy a on-board unit soon,,,also just bought youtube compatible camcorder to make videos when i feel i have boats up to decent good speeds for worthy vids,,,
we have no racing and I am kinda on my own here in Augusta GA with the boats,,LHS owner is no help at all for upgrades to my boats,,he knows off-roads and airplanes for most partmmthats what they seem to cater too around here,,they were no help when i got into the top speed on-roads so I learned that all myself,,had run nitro most of my RC hobbytime in the past,,,any advice will be greatly appreciated,,,plane to buy high grade boats later on when i get the esc.motor and prop knowledge down to better understanding ,,,thx for reply and any advice,,,Bobby Baldwin

hydro's and rigger... not a single mono! none of these are easy to start with in the FE world! but...
I would first deal with the UL-1 stock as it is known as good out of the box, fine tune it and have fun first, search on this board any topic about the others and make your own idea of what can be done and accomplished.
I would also recommend to start a topic here on the OSE board, on the boat you will choose to start with, this would help others to focuss on and give proper advices.

            Thx Ed,,

Hey Ed,,thx,,iI just sold my supervee27 brushless and i have the Widomaker 22 brushless also,,,I have it for sale also,,I know the V-Hulls are great for speed and excellent tight turning ect,,enjoy all my boats, but I am just drawn to the Hydro's and outrigger's and will buying a Tunnel soon,,, I know It would be best to star one boat at a time for advice,,,the outrigger is the one i want to get going, all my others are 100% RTR and the rigger isnt,,
I would love suggestions on a good starter esc/motor combo and possible prop suggestion to get her in the water and moving close to running avg of what my UL-1's are averaging about 49 to 54mph,,so at least want to do a 50mph+++ set up with my rigger till i get used to it and then go for broke on top ends of the boat.,,thx again,,Bobby

You don't need to buy lesser c rating batteries to run a boat. When you start drawing high amp loads you will want that high c rating batteries. Lots of good info around here. Good luck on you new adventure.

                    Hey BakedMopar,,

I understand what you are saying about the lipo's,,these are just ones i will be running like my UL-1 esc's and parralel set ups,,,I see you have a brushles s motor up for grabs on the swap shop,,what size esc would you use in a 26 to 32' ince hydro/outrigger with the motor,,is it too much for my boats or about right to upgrade one of the UL-1's or outrigger set up I have,,the rigger is a Blizzard unltr with 1/8 shaft coupler....what dor you think on that motor in either boat,,is it a upgrade and better speeds????thx for the info,,started to ask earlier,,thx,,Bobby

No the motor I have in the swap shop is a 380 "L" size. It has a 1/8" shaft that will fit your coupler. I'm not sure how it would work out but they supposed to put out power close to a 540 "S" size. I ran that motor with an SV27 controller with no problems.
