    Hobbycity/Joysway "Sea Fire" Hydro

Took the plunge and ordered one of these. Time to get my feet wet once again! She came in this morning, and I was pleasantly surprised with the hull quality and rigidness, everything seems laid out well with easy access to the components. I will be using 2 4S 2200mah in parallel for now (from my airplane stash), they just fit under the hatch. RTR trim weighs in a 4 1/4 pounds. The stock props are plastic junk, no turn fin on a hydro? and I have suspicion of the motor coupler trueness. But for the price it has room for a few upgrades as needed. Hoping for a maiden on sunday.

Is that a zip tie that holds the servo in place?

Not sure what the hull is really lol, it appears to be epoxy glass with some very hard paint and possibly some carbon fiber flooring.

The servo has a zip tie have not looked underneath it yet.

            Price was $159.99

Let us know how it runs. The motor looks the same as a Surge boat that I have. It did around 37mph when I tested it. Could we get a picture of the back and underside?

I was wondering how a 'glassed' boat could look so much like plastic. Duh. they just glassed the inside of a plastic boat. hmm. Not completely sure this is correct, but it very well may be. I am going to take a closer look.

Hey Sean how have you been? Ill try to stop in next time Im over that way.

@ electric, sure will take a few tonight.

Whatever the outer coating is, it can chip off reveiling what I would sware is epoxy glass, anyhoo its strong and light.

The original motor coupler is pitifull not even close to being bored straight. I replaced it with a modified OE one, much better now. This thing has a huge 5mm flex cable lol.

A few pics of the servo mount.

The rudder looks so thick in the pic! Those connectors are pretty huge too!! Hope all goes well at the lake!

Its just sorry camera phone pics.

Well had a successfull maiden today! It sure felt good to be on the H2O again. All went very well, aside from the flex shaft pumping in water, big time.. This must be addressed. Everything came in luke warm to the touch so Im pretty confident more prop can be safely used . The original plastic crapper appears to be in the 40-42mm range, so Im gonna try a P215 and a P220 after they are bored out to fit the odd ball shaft size. Not sure how I missed the sticker before, but the motor is a 36x56x2000kv.

Like a dummy I forgot the tools.. The strut needs some adjusting and the cog needs to be played with. Also the hatch is not the easiest to tape but it works.

Heres a couple quick camera phone vids with the stock prop.
