    motor suggstion for Titan 29

Hey all; I have been colecting parts for an aeromarine titan 29 build.
I've come across people using 8xl-10xl. and running 4s-6s. I understand that by runnng 6s, I would have a lower amp draw,but.....
I would appreciate our opoinions/recomendations. I am looking for most reliable setup and best speed without overpowering the hull.
    Thanks
    Joe

The prop is the real answer to your question and what is most important to you...speed....reliability...run time?

I am looking at Fiego $$$.
As for prop size I am thinking x440-442/640-642.
As for what I want I would have to say, Speed, but not crazy too much for the hull no fun speed. then reliability and run time.
        thanks
        Joe

              Titan 29 ; 9XL/4S2P Neu 4100's, X442 ; get's a little hairy over 50 mph.

Moving motor rearward & putting batts on keel line improved handling, BTW

              I now run a BJ 1500 KV motor with Turnigy 4S2P 3600's , UL-1 SC , hub cut X442 for LSO [ 4.5 min] with a cooling fan & really like it for a low-buck fun runner. Mid/High 30's. More prop, likely @ 40 mph.

Cool vid. Thanks for the motor mounting tip. I was thinking of going in that direction. Do you have a picture of your setup inside the hull?
                Cheers

10 XL, 4s2P, M545, Etti 150. Low 40's. Cool, fun & reliable. Plenty fast for that hull.

I have this set up in my two sons Titan 29 and Mean Machine.

I started out with a 10XL ; less heat, more runtime = more fun.

Interesting answers..I do not own a Titan 29 but I do own a DF 29 and my speed setup is as I stated for that hull and I do agree that for less heat etc. a 10XL or similar motor is a better choice.

Todd, there's no easy answer to this. Factors to consider : distance of transom - to - prop { I use a shortened Speedmaster stinger}, prop lift, type of water, e.g sticky glass, small chop, racewater; aerodynamic hull lift ( the T29 gets airborne much over 50 mph) and so on. Confused already ? Test & tune each boat will reveal the answer !

Ok, after seeing the picture of your T29, I got worried because my batteries are about 3-4" forward of yours..
