Twin 2215's with twin hv120's in big cat?

Do you think I could run (2) of these hv120's in a 54" mhz cat with Twin 2215 1.5y's? (the one I bought from Cat boi) with twin on 8s? was gonna start with x455's and there is a good deal on a hv120 on here and I'd find another if it would work in a twin setup with 2215's? Was thinking it might work because usually with twins the amp load per motor is way down?

@ approx. 80A you will have just under 3hp per side. Your wattage will be @ 2386 and the max on that motor is 2500 constant. You will be cutting it very close in my opinion and may start seeing heat issues. With the 455's I think you will be lower on amperage but to get the speed I think you want you will have to prop up like a pair of 462's cut down to 458's and pitched or cupped. You have a great setup all around but the esc's will be your weak spot.

Now this is just my opinion but I have had Andrew at fast electrics r c help me through all my twin setups and he has helped me understand the different high voltage low amperage optioins.

Your build weight also makes a big difference. I am a light builder but if you look at ""Bonewar" twin maritimo builds he is a heavier builder.

EDIT: I see you are just sport running with hopes to reach 60mph. Watch your temps unless you can see them from shore:)

thanks boatman... I take it you mean heat issues on the esc's? I guess I may look for another 40-160 version 16 the match the NIB one that I have..... I was hoping to pick up on a great deal...LOL... you don't have a source for props for my cat do you?

I just think that run time mixed with trying to be at or above 60mph will yes, build heat on the esc's. I don't think you are far off but like I said "just my opinion". Run time has always been a killer to me with twin setups. I will be running a couple 2215's myself but am shooting for only 80/100 amps on hydra 240's. Competition marine designs is where I get my "goodie" props. Takes about 3 weeks and are pricey but he can do any size/pitch/detounge/thin/back-cut prop you want. They all have measured out almost exact to specs so far.

really appreciate the help boatman.... this is my first big twin...., I was hoping to find a way to put something reasonable $ wise in this boat.... I appreciate the help on the props too.... sounds like you always run specialized props on your twins huh? I was thinking of having egneg whip me up some counterrotating x457's or something but you have me wondering now... I am gonna try and find another schulze if possible or another hv240 as I have a hv240 in a boat that doesn't see much use and I could throw the schulze in that one.... again thanks for the help.... I was thinking maybe the swordfish 240's too but they just don't have the history yet to make me feel comtorable.....
