I have found that glueing with CA and kicker with abs on the inside of cracks etc then filling top with Humbrol model filler or two pack styrene like Selleys pasti bond and sanding smooth works a treat and once painted can not tell it was ever damaged. Hope this helps.

the best is to use ABS!!!
take a camera film box, put some small pieces af ABS in it and add small amount of aceton at a time to it so that you get a "goo", this goo is liquid ABS that will dry as aceton evaporates and "weld", but it is not as strong as originaly
if you use this goo on the outside I would recommand to put a piece of ABS sheet inside
if the hull is broken right in a corner or edge then you can put several layer, but wait till they dry between each layer
this technic can be used to sharpen ABS hull's edge or steps for better efficiency as well by adding material in round edges
