    Help with Bullet outboard

    Hi all

i have a bullet outboard complete kit from offshore for electric setup

when assembling this unit with a 1518 castle motor the shaft is two long ,
about 7mm needs to be cut of the motor shaft .

if this is the case has anyone bought this unit and what motor will bolt straight on as it seems alot to have to take off 7 t0 8 mm from the motor shaft .

could someone give some feed back that have had these units and what motor bolts on it without modifying the shafts

This unit was to suit electric setup ?????

    Thanks

I have had to take off several mm's on a few shafts............my Diamond edged dremel blade goes right thru it in about a minute. Then I give the end a nice stock rounded look.

If you do this with an open endbell motor(like a Neu), make sure you tape over all the holes first!
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Cut the shaft. It's no big deal.

but I will say a 1518 is a huge motor for that outdrive/cable assembly. IMO it's better suited for UL 1 motors/other P-Limited motors...and maybe up to a 9XL or similar.
