New Guy, Looking for Some Helpful Info Please

Hey guys, my name's Mike and I'm new to OffShoreElectrics, but not new to boats. I've been big in gas rc boats for about 2 years now and built a 48" mono and a 41" cat. Now electrics have caught my eye. I've still got my old 48" mono hull but I think it'd be a little expensive to get a brushless setup to push it at 40-50+ mph, or I could be wrong.

So here are my questions for you all if you don't mind:

    1. What is a nice RTR or ARTR boat that I could throw some 3-6s lipos in and go 40-50+ mph while not going crazy money wise? (Could also include a cheaper boat and adding some upgrades to it...and I really like the 30-40" boats)

    2. With the 48" mono I have, it is set up for gas engines (1/4 " flex shaft and adjustable stinger). What type of brushless setup and batteries might be recommended for a hull this size and be able to make it move at least 40 mph? (I'd like to stay budget-minded on this also if I could)

Thank you for your time and any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing back from some folks and gaining more info from this forum. Thanks.

    -Mike

the new traxxas mono coming out shortly looks promising. 36 in. 50 plus mph rtr if you run 6s. On your big mono, a good inexpensive motor would be the littlescreamers outrunner. It would require at least 10s though.

I have a 45" Dumas Scarab mono running a Neu 1527 1Y on 6s, it's running an X445 but could take more prop.........hitting 34mph with the conservative prop, and it weighs 13+ pounds with batts.

Thanks guys. Might I ask what kind of run times you all get when driving around? I know that's a very open ended question, but let's just say with the Traxxas Titan that's supposed to come out and running two 3s packs that are 4500mah each...any ideas or comparable times/setups you all have?
