    WARNING: Ordering LiPo Batteries from Hobbyking

    Hi Guys

    Id advise against ordering batteries from Hobbyking at the moment, Hong Kong post are Xraying all packages and rejecting ones containing lipos, therefore Hobbyking is shipping lipos via Singapore post, which I think goes to germany then bounces half way round the world, Eventually you "Might" get your package, but at the moment the HK forums are full of people not getting their packages, some have been waiting since may.

    Just a word of warning..

        Yep took them a month to send my cells, but they did get here. I guess it's costing HK quite a bit of extra $$ to send them out that way.

        According to them, the extra scanning is not permanent and the delay in shipping is due to packages being returned and then shipped singapore post or swiss post. Swiss post takes the longest to the US.

        They say shipping should be back to normal, so we'll see. I'm ordering a pair of lipos this week.

        I really wish someone in the US would either start making them or import large quantities to distribute.

          When I ordered my Turnigy batteries from HobbyKing they shipped them from a warehouse in the USA. It stated in the site that they would be shipped from a USA warehouse. I don't know how unusual that is, but is worth looking for when placing an order.

                OK, so out of curiosity to see if HK's responses are correct, I placed an order for two 6s 5000mah packs. (I needed some other things anyway)

                We'll see. I'm in no hurry.

                          I ordered a pair of 2S lipo's on 5/31 and got them last week using regular not express mail.

                          P.S. they never did show up in the tracking info.

                            Is this the post? IT was dated June 9th..
                            2 weeks ago, Hong Kong airport increased its security on items such as perfume, batteries, organic items and dried foods being posted through customs/quarantine. While we don't have full details on the matter, we can only guess at the reasons and think it may have something to do with a dignitary from the Chinese government visiting Hong Kong at the time. We saw a similar issue when the World Expo was launched, and also during the 2008 Olympics.

                            Unfortunately this meant that many of our orders which contained Lipoly batteries, were held and sent back to us. This caused quite a delay in dispatching new and reshipping old orders.
                            A reprisentative at Hong Kong post told us to "wait and just post again a few days later" which we did, only to have the parcels rejected once more (I guess the diginitary was in town for a few more days than expected). This will explain why some customers recieved mutliple notices that their parcel was posted or may have had a different tracking number than the original.

                            Hobbyking quickly reacted to this, engaging couriers to ship parcels out via various countries. Many parcels that were sent via Singapore did not have a tracking number on them when they left the warehouse because Singapore post was unable to provide us with enough postal forms in time. This is why some parcels show posted, without a tracking number. The postal form was later applied in Singapore and so the tracking number's are only just starting to be recorded.
                            Because of the backlog, parcels sent on 3/6 are now starting to leave airports and arrive in destination countries.

                            We have seen a small number of parcels returned to us from Singapore post. This is due to an address issue, and is only a handful of orders which we will reprocess immediately and reship at our own cost.

                            We are almost finally through the backlog of parcels from the previous 2 weeks, and currently our average warehouse dispatch delay is 44hrs which will be decreasing over the next 5 days and should be back to 24hr dispatch by the 14/6.

                            We thank you all for your patience in waiting for your orders.

                            Moving forward;
                            1) HobbyKing has worked closely with two Aviation Security companies for the last 3 weeks to devise a way of securely shipping Lipoly's at a low cost and without risk of fire or damage to the parcel or surroundings. We will be implimenting this method in the coming weeks. However, in the meantime you're still able to order batteries from our store without issue.
                            2) Hobbyking is taking a more serious and concerted effort to establish larger warehouses in Europe, USA and Australia. This will help to eliminate bottlenecks or delays and allow us to ship much larger models at an economical price.

                              If you dont order lipo's, it will probably go HKP.
                              HKP is rejecting 100% of Lithium parcels now as AVSECO is now x-raying all parcels from HongKongPost. Even for smaller vendors who are hand posting at the local post office, they too will be rejected now.
                              YOU CAN NO LONGER PURCHASE BATTERIES FROM HONG KONG THROUGH HONG KONG POST.

                              This doesn't stop us from posting. It just means we have to send via private courier to Singapore first which adds 4 days to the total delivery time. We have no choice, it's either that, or nothing!

                              Moving forward;
                              -Germany's shipments will arrive soon, and we will open up postage to all European countries. Giving Euro customers access to a huge range of Lipo's from the German warehouse with 2 day low cost delivery charges.
                              -USA warehouse is moving ahead and will take on our entire battery range.
                              -AUS warehouse will also stock our entire battery range.

                              Within 90 days you will have access to all battery products and an increased range of planes in either DE/USA/AU warehouses.
