New Motor no power-Help

I installed a new aquacraft 540 motor, 6 pole, 1800kv and a new 70amp esc. I used a 3s lipo- 20c 6400mah and a 37mm prop. The boat is a mono hull 25" artr. With this setup it takes a while to get on plane and when it does not all that fast. Esc/batt stay cool during a 2min run but the motor feels hot to touch. Any Ideas?

I thought this boat would do 35-40mph with this setup. I'm thinking maybe the 3s battery is not powerfull and I need to try a 4s setup. I would like more info on how to get this boat flyin.

Run 4s lipo and a x642 and hold on !!

Yep,you need 4s to get the rpms up. The calculation goes like this. Volts * 1800 = RPM. So in your case, you are at 11.1* 1800 = 19,980 rpms. You need 14.4 * 1800 = 25,920 rpm. In reality, with lipo's you are getting more voltage than 14.4, but you get the idea. More RPM's (to a point) more speed.

I would use a pair of decent quality 4-5000 mah 2s 30c packs in series. Hobbyking.com!
