    Esc

Ok, the little ring that your esc receiver wire is wrapped around. What is that called? And is it used, to reduce interference? Where can I purchase these little wonders?

A choke is ferrous material, used to cancel emf from the leads wound through it.
Chokes are avail from most electronic dohicky stores.. radioshack etc...
Wrap esc control/servo lead through a few times and make firm.. a moving lead self-induces emf !

for a test you could try winding it through a steel washer a few times. Most old stereos will have a couple, pull off the top of one you scrounge and snip one out.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Ok, I harkened upon the information highway (WWW) and found out that the dohikey is called a Toroid Core aka a Ferrite bead. So now I can atleast type in an actual word to find these things for sale....

Thats right. There is also one in the power supply cable of a lot of computer devices, thats the cylindrical lump near the end of the cable.

I wonder why the high end ESC's dont have this installed? I never saw one on any of my Hydras but always had them on my "china" ESC's.

You will most likely find them on air esc's. We use them on our Heli's just as a "just in case" of a glitch. I have not had any trouble using them. Then again I have no trouble without them.

If you look into castle's site they list the throttle connection as Opto isolated. Basically they are isolating some of the circuit with an optical connection to kill any RF noise coming through the wire which makes the ring unnecessary.
