Get It On (Bang a Swan Gong)

I took my cat, DaBoat - Oso Vicious, for it’s maiden run utilizing LiPo’s today. I made one pass, then stopped to adjust the XMTR steering trim & rate for the next run. Unbeknownst to me, a pair of swans decided to land on the test course. I started my 2nd pass & was already at FTB before I noticed the swans were there. Guess I zigged when I should have zagged, & hit one of the swans in the butt end, which launched DaBoat into the air. It landed hatch side down, & the swans made a hasty departure.

My rescue boat [DaTurtle] was still in the car, so it was about 10 minutes before I got it set-up to make the retrieve. I was worried that DaBoat would be taking on water, as I had only taped the corners of the hatch (which has 4 hatch locks) … Oops !!!

This was the initial trial for DaTurtle under an actual crash scenario, & it performed flawlessly. And, low & behold, there wasn’t a single drop of water inside DaBoat … Lots O Luck !!!

I hope the swan I hit is OK, but I know it‘s minus at least one tail feather, as it was wrapped around the prop/shaft (see photo).

      Karfrik,
NAW, no other damage that I've noticed.

I'm in El Paso ... no other FE boaters here either (that I know of) . . . .
