    Supervee Powered TITAN 29

Yo! I have my race boat together. The guys at the local club let SV motors, and SV's themselves race in the LSO class amongst the 700 Motors. Next season they are also making lipo's fully legal. The guys are being cool and letting me race the last few races here with my "illegal boat.

My "race boat" here is a FDM Titan 29, SV motor, 4s1p lipo, Hacker 77 ESC. Today I had it geared for 1.10:1 overdrive. meaning 1.10 turns of the prop to one turn of the motor. it turned out almost 37MPH on GPS with a x442 mod prop, but the motor was getting a little to warm. I am gonna reverse the gears and give it the 1:10 turns of the motor to one turn of the prop and see what happens. No cavitation on this prop. The boat jumps out of the water. Handling was good.

I ran with a y536 also, it sucked. handling was CRAZY, not the good fun kind. slow...GPS said like 29MPH. Lots of cavitation. Not the prop.

X440 2 blade ran OK. I was able to get 31-32MPH and the temps where lower. Handling was good like the 442.

If anyone thinks I should change gears and props or whatever speak up cause I want this sucker to be as efficent as possible!

Also, 1st pic is with the PQ's that where not fresh, x442 prop. 2nd pic is with the 10000Mah FDM cells, same prop. they had more voltage in them obviously.

Here's the video!!!! Not bad for a little Nikon Coolpics L5 digicam...

Chris I would first swap the gears and run the x442 again.

Seems to handel well and is pretty quick. Nice boat . On a seprate note that gasser is freekin neet. I never knew a chainsaw could be so much fun... . I can see where in areas that they are allowed it's a popular choice. If the gas fumes werent such an issue I'd own one. I wish there was an alternative fuel & more places in Jersey to run

Yeah Tom it's OK. But I don't like the noise...and the fumes...and the mess....It's a big hastle. the trade off, is I get short run times and batterys cost a fortune to buy. But I still like FE Better.

Thanks for the good words fellas. It was real choppy and windy out that day, and it handled real well. I was happy it was choppy, cause thats what race water is gonna be like!

This weekend we have the SAWS here in Flint, and the following weekend it's my 1st race! man, I can't wait!

Taylor, not sure what you mean.

Thanks fellas. This sunday (saturday im gonna be at the SAWS ) I am gonna swap the gears and run it with the x442. I'll GPS and see what happens. I'll try the x440 too.....I really don't have much else to try....I have a x445 thats detounged.....but I think it's a bit large without lower gearing.

                        FDM Titan Great Boat

Hey Chris, Good looking boat I just saw your video, it seems to be pretty stable.
I have not tried my Titan with an SV motor. I actually set the Q oval record with the same boat with an Aveox 36/30/1.5. Be careful with current draw, those hacker esc's make an awful mess if you over-current them. They will smoke up the entire inside of the boat and you will never really get the smell out of it. I don't believe you will have this problem if you stay with the SV motor. Your hull will handle great with as high as an X445. If you go to an X447 it will start to chine walk at about 50 mph. Just monitor your motor temps to optimize you performance. Also I'm a big fan of the turbo-trans, most of the top racers don't seem to agree, but it just seems easier to dial in alot of combo's with about a half a dozen gear options. If you do put in an aveox or larger motor, get a higher current esc.
Your Titan if set-up properly is capable of a 90 degree turn at 50 MPH, believe it or not. Great hull choice.
                        Good Luck, Ken Haines
