    turnagy 180 esc

ok here it is, i have a xl motor , i dont know anything else about it as it was not the motor that should have come with the boat.[32in. pursuit mono] ihave the 180 amp esc and when i take off with the boat it jump[s off good then goes to about half throttle. i have went through the programing mode ten times and know for a fact that i have the esc set right. my only question is about timing, what should it b set at?i have tried 15 degrees,18.75 degrees what should it b? default setting is 15degrees.

Go with the 7ish Degree timing. Your cutoff might also be set wrong...are you running lipos? If not that is your problem.

What your experiencing is you LVC kicking in. If you have different packs try them or you can simply set the LVC lower or off and see if it still does it. DO NOT run it for too long though as you may damage your packs. Just a pass or two to see if that solved anything.

The half throttle thing is low current mode, not enough juice. Bigger battery setup will take care of it.

I have this problem if I use two 25c packs instead of two 30c packs pushing a CC/Neu 1515.

Yup, fightercat is right. The esc is going into low-current mode. I had the same thing happen on my 31-inch cat wiith castle 1515 and turnigy 180. I usually run 2-3600mah packs in parallel. But tried my 4000mah 2s packs in series to reduce weight and my esc did the same thing. The batteries were'nt producing enough current to satisfy the esc.

Hmmm.... I just figured it was an esc feature that was there to protect it.

set to lipo cut off to the actual cells that you use and not the auto mode

Really?? I have all my esc's set at auto calculate because I typically run between 3 and 4s. Does "auto calculate" hamper performance?

The auto mode seems to mis calculate sometimes. Eventhough it tells you the correct amount of cells.
