    ok.. whats next.....

so after a long, long build process my vac u cracker finally had it s first run today... went well, i guess... all things considered, no leaks, no failures, burnt ESCs etc.. but it was S L O W... so slow it couldn t get out of it s own way, maybe 10 mph... tested it with a brushed 21t titan and an esc from a slash... she s a standard vac u cracker.. lovely kit and it turned out great but i need more speed... ran it for 1 min and had good temps, about 85 F... i ran an x431 prop...

any suggestions on a new motor ??? i have a titan 12 T from the slash... don t wanna do brushless (just yet)... possiily in the future... dunno... just lookin for a fun, reliable, mild brushed set up for the 21" cracker... it ll run on 6 / 7 nimh and occasionally on 2s lipo...

    cheers

cmon, i know she isn t a df29 or whatever but it s a cool little boat... someone must have some experience with these things... i d appreciate any suggestions as to set up since i really don t have a clue...

at the moment she runs but if you asked me to describe her running i d have to say 'embarassing' ... not looking to set the water on fire, just move this little thing out at a decent clip..

    cheers

I don't run a cracker box but with that brushed motor an 6 cell NiMh a x431 prop seams a bit small. For example the Rio Ep has a 42 mm prop on it's 550 sized motor stock. Then again I may be way off here as I never ran one of these.

Back when we raced these things at National events, I ran a 27T ROAR stock motor, 6 NiCd cells and an x435. Speeds were in the mid-high teens. The SAW record is only in the low 20s - the hull couldn't handle more.

          mine

          http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...t=12753&page=2

Post 38 I have a video running of mine, not real fast. X431 prop, 17mph in chop, amps averaging about 11, peak 15.

Last out we were running a 2s-2200 Lipo with a 27mm OSE plastic prop. 18 minute run time.

What is the RTR weight of your boat and where is the COG? My RTR weight is 1lb 15 oz and COG is about 6.5"

Also a long thread over on RCGroups http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...851484&page=34

          Maybe post a video?

A 21 turn Titan...........which is from an E-maxx, is about 1700kv.......x.......7.2 = 12,240 rpms. Coupled with a small prop, that equals low speed.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

I am not sure. I run a 1700kv outrunner, 2s lipo and it moves out really nice on a 30mm prop, 32mm gets a bit harry. That x431 is the standard prop for people to use.

Mine is not a speed demon, but it will get out of its own way!

i don t think this thing will handle 30mph... anyway, an update... cycled the bats a few times and surprise, they came to life !! on the 7 cell matched gp3700s she did pretty well... 15 mph, maybe a bit more... enough to flip it over anyway... might try it on 2s this arvo...

I ran mine yesterday. I went submarine on me quite a few times. It'll be hauling across the pond the it'll dive....I think its too much speed.
