    Help with wirring new motor

    Hey guys,

Just bought a new motor for my little pond cruiser and need some help.

If you look at the following pictures you will see the old motor has a yellow square thing attached before it attaches to the motor.. I am guessing this is some kind of resistor or something?

My question, do I need to use this when soldering the wires to the new motor? or can I just cut that out and solder the wire directly to it?

    Thanks so much guys!

Its most likely a BIG filtering capacitor as its accross the positive and negative leads. Necessary to keep your speedo from glitching. But it looks like the motor on the right already has some caps going from each lead to the motor case. That might be enough filtering. Normaly there would be 3 caps on a brushed motor, one on each leg going to the case and one accross the power wires. That brings back some memories!

the yellow thing is a capacitor, it is used as anti parasite or filter, when spining, brushed motor brushes generate sparks that causes glitches.
the Titan motor already have two capacitor (those little clear brown thing between each pole and can), just solder you wire on it!
