    Adding Caps to ESC

After spending saturday watching my boat go a couple of feet then die then start up again to die again using different packs, changing esc settings to end up 2 hours of watching one lap I had to try something. So I solder on one 25v 1000uf
cap to the battery leads.Took the boat out today and found a much better running boat.I was able to slow it down without it stopping take off from a died stop only had it stop 3 times then take off agian.Ran 4 packs different props all seamed ok.Temps always under 150 between 104-130.I did notice the new cap was hotter then the 2 originals by about 20 degrees. This was on a Hobbywing 120amp ESC running 2s pack with feigao 7s motor.

I understand 2S setups draw very high amps. Maybe this is really your problem? You're hitting LVC? Just a thought.

Which 7s motor can size are you using? What is the boat you are using them in?

want i log on my eagletree. I know it pulls about 90-95 amps running and has peaked @ 130 amps.

I tried it agian today posted a video you can see at the start it go and stop
then other then keep trying the throttle it goes.I wonder if its a problem with
the BEC? I know it seems like dumb question because all in all I did get 7 good run tonight once it goes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0pGipZDwLk

Seems like a bec or esc problem. i suggest trying it without the bec to see if it happens.

Thanks Steven I will get a small receiver pack and a extention lead to cut the wire so
I don't have to cut the one on the esc and see what happens.

Do not cut the wire - use a pin to lift the tab and pull the red connector out.

This may sound stupid but play with the throttle trim on your transmitter!

Thanks guys for the replies I did get out today in the rain with my boat.Using a 150mah rx
pack I got in 4 runs and didn't have any trouble with it cutting out so i guess it was a bec problem. Now to figure out how long the pack will last?
With some prop work I tried I have seam to have lowered the max amp draw to under 120amps and temps around 115f gps reading of 48 mph so I'm happy with it now most runs little under 2 minutes.
                            Thanks Again
