    ul-1 esc

Pretty sure I know the answer to this one, but thought I would ask for other ideas before I give up on the ESC. Here is what is happening. Hit the throttle, go about 20 yards and then the ESC cuts out. The rudder still works, but no throttle after that. I tried a couple different sets of batteries just in case. Same result. I used the same radio and receiver in another boat on the same day with no problems, so I am comfortable it was not the radio.

Any other ideas? Nothing was hot by the way and the previous time I used the boat about a month ago it worked fine.

I would wonder about the cap on it. If it is new then they will prbably replace it for free.

Sorry to hear of your esc failure. Your scenario is common to this esc. Our group had five failures this past winter and ALL displayed your symptoms. It seems like the lipo cuttoff safety has gone haywire and shuts down.We were fortunate to get three warranty relacements and they came with the new, improved longer cap. These replacements seem to fair better but I personally have switched to ETTI 150 esc and absolutely love them. BG

I was pretty certain it was the ESC, just wanted to check here to see if I had forgotten to try anything else. The boat is well over a year old, so I will find a new esc for it. Strange though, usually when the ESC's fail, they just fail completely. Thanks for the help.

Is it cutting off when full throttle only?
Do you have to rearm it after the cut off?
If YES and YES, you need to install new cap or caps.
