i need your help for outrigger boat

This week I will start to make outrigger.
Tell me how you choose power inrunner brushless motor and KV - the weight of the boat ready to sail. For more speed 100 kmh ~150 kmh

We will need a lot of information to help you choose a power setup.
    Hull size is a start.
I have two riggers that will clear 100kmh but they are quite different in size.
One is about 26" with a 540-S motor, the bigger one is is about 34" and runs a 540-XL motor on 4S.
These two riggers are so much fun that I will do a smaller 18" soon.

To go to 150 kmh 90mph+ is out of my game.
    See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Most conversions of nitro riggers to FE don't work well. I suggest you get a JAE 21FE from Zippkits. http://www.zippkits.com/

This is an inexpensive, proven design using easy to find parts. With the right prop and tuning it will reach 100 kmh and run very very well. I would suggest you start with this boat and learn about building and setting up riggers. Then you can build a larger, faster model if you want later.

            help me for chose KV

Hey guys - i`m sorry for my bad english
I need information for inrunner brushless motor - I liked this Feigao 540XL "Extra Long" Sized Brushless Motor
            i will put this battery
            ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 4S1P 40C
But I do not know how to choose KV.
25,000 RPM / 30,000 RPM or more for more speed and fun

Or this motor does not work well

              Atanas,

              If you're running 4S, remember 1 cell=3.7V, therefore 4s=4x3.7=14.8V
To choose your rpm/kv multiply your motor Kv by the Volts. If you're thinking 540XL motor, the 10XL series will yield 25,000rpm/kv, 9XL will yield 28,000rpm/kv and the 8xL will yield 30,000rpm/kv. Remember the higher Kv will mean faster speed, shorter runs times and high temperature as well. This is not the only factor affecting speed, you will need to take into account prop diameter and pitch as well. And you will definitely need to consider your amp draw on your esc inorder not to blow a esc.

maybe I did not explained properly.
What is the RPM limit of which I shall not pass
I see this motor can withstand 50,000 RPM

50,000 rpm is useless on the water, the fastest R/C boats in the world don't run that fast. That is just the limit of the bearings, for a sport boat 30,000 is a good rpm on the water. The folks in the pics on your last site are friends of mine, I was there when the FE records were set.

You will not be happy with the plans you posted, they are for a nitro engine. If you insist you will want to use an 8XL with your 4S setup. With props like an x648 or 1650 your rigger could meet your speed - goal if the hull worked. Designing a successful rigger is not easy, and a poor design will not be fun to run.

You'd be better off with the JAE design with UL-1 power for your first boat, but if you do not want to take my advice that's fine. Good luck.

These plans make a great fast rigger without spending 500 euros. Use an Aquacraft UL-1 motor and ESC, or similar. 4S1P/4000mAh minimum. http://www.4shared.com/dir/697M-Gdp/sharing.html

ATANAS Jae s were originally designed for nitro as well people do sucessful nitro conversions all the time . Heres an example by another ose member he converted a keps 90 so what does that tell you? Jae are good riggers and easier to build but a kep 21 is good too so go for it If thats what you want.Good rule of thumb on ose always investigate for yourself.http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=13870

thanks for your help. I already have a drawing for eletricheski bike.
Before he began to be interested in boats - to fly with airplanes on them - use a calculator - to help choose a motor, battery, propeller.
For boats do you have calculators - to see how to select every detail - battery, motor and propeller, according to them to obtain a minimum speed of what I received
