i have a hammer and it works ok i do run it in the ocean. me an my dad take ppl out fishing mostly kids and when we are at the dock i let them drive it there. When a wake comes by u have to slow down. O i think i read somewere that wave sharks roll over by themsevles. ive seen a video on RcFlix with someone driving one in a wake it looked pretty stable cutting across the wake. i dont remeber what it was called but i think that should be a ok ocean boat. Hopfully next summer ill start building gas boats like 3-4 feet
Hope i was of any help:DFailure is the First step to SUCCESS -

This summer I jumped into the FE boat scene and I run my boats on Long Island Sound so I needed something thta could deal with chop wind and waves. After doing some research I ended up with a ABS plastic Oval Master 29 (it was fairly inexpensive). I am now powering her with a 11XL and either 4S2P or 18 IB4200's. I have to think I am close to 40MPH with both set ups, with the Lipo's I am running a X445 and the round cells I am running a K42 and temps are OK. The boat is plenty fast for anything but super smooth water, if fact there are a lot of times that the sea state limits how fast I can drive her. As you know salt water really beats up the gear but I have not had too many issues as long as I do regular maintanence.
Cheers,
