does the price per item go even lower when you have Platinum stats?

On some items, yes. It's especially applicable to a lot of Turnigy branded items.

looks good but i would swap the motor before i spent any money on the esc 28mm sounds small for this size xl maybe but a 2800 l sounds better on 4s setup but thats my opion i have a 28 in a mini and its at the top of its limit
217 for me also 3 orders worth about 250 put me platinun plus posting reviews buys you points

Wrong boat, it is the 425mm, not the 625. They look the same, just different size.

                      no,
                      small:
Motor: 20-40 size 2604kv Watercooled brusless
                      ESC: 30A watercooled

                      Big:
Motor: 28-58 size 2881kv Watercooled brusless
                      ESC: 50A watercooled

Actually the "big" power should be on the small boat and the "big" boat needs bigger motor.

Can anyone recomend a decent budget motor upgrade for this boat to run on a 4s lipo without changing the motor mount? Do you think it would be as fast as my blacjack 26 on 3s with that motor?

I can say these are great motors!

They bolt in to the 380 and 540 mounts. They run well on 4s with smaller props IME. They also run well on 60a esc's.

I've seen quite a few other 540 sized motors with the diamond shaped bolt pattern and built in water jacket on eBay and Swanghobby as well as others. I have heard problems with some of them though, so be cautious about quality.

Neu has a 14 series that's supposed to rock and OSE has some XL series Feigao motors that have a good reputation here.
