    Polishing props

What's the most common way to polish props? Polishing compound used?
What about tumble polishing? What material is used for this?

To the best of my knowledge most folks have stopped polishing.

Since polishing is normaly done after sharpening and balancing I dont think you want to use a tumbler. Voodoo says this; http://www.voodoopropellers.com/polish.html

I like to use a polishing wheel on my dremel with some car polishing compound and get it done. I only polish the one side myself. YMMV.

I use 400 grit wet/dry paper to finish props. It doesn't give you a mirror finish but it is just as smooth to the touch. The difference in speed would (maybe) only matter running SAW.

yeah i always read a polished prop cavitates more, and 400 is a good finish. It's not a mirror finish but the rough surface grabs and throws the water better. Just what i read tho, seems logical "shrug"

I have polished plenty of props and will continue to do so if that is what folks want. The argument will probably go for ever until someone comes up with hard data to prove things one way or the other.

I use mothers. The ones I sell I polish. Most that I use I don't.
