    Strut placement question...

Alright guys, heres a simple but puzzling question, for me atleast. Where do I mount the strut on my deep-vee? It is 58'' long and wood.

here are some pictures. Any help would be great! Thanks!

the first Picture if you want surface drive

Sounds like she will be a big boat, id also look at offsetting the strut about 6mm to the right to counter prop walk

Depends on if you plan on running a submerged prop, as in the struts location in the bottom second picture, or you want to run a surface piercing prop like the strut shown in the first picture. If your not going for all out speed then you can do either method. But if speed will come into play at some point then use the first pictures method.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the quick reply. I usually go to another website for my gas boat questions, but everyone here is so nice! Thumbs up to you guys!

I think I will do the first picture. Speed isnt going to be a factor as this is 1) a budget build 2) a home project 3) my first boat 4) only powered by a weedy engine and 5) is a big boat.

I'd like to say I'm doing the project to have a fast boat but I'll be realistic and say I'm enjoying the late nights in the woodshop building the boat.

          Thanks again everyone!!

Definitely offset to the right if its for a weed eater powered boat, otherwise it will turn right by itself
