Another problem is scaling. You see setups that look screaming. Then you take the time to look at the shore and objects in the pictures and realize its smoke an mirrors. I always love the guys who claim 60 to 70 mph and cant run more then 50 feet without turning. And then post the GPS to impress us. Ya. That works.

The guys who need the attention or press their accomplishment on the rest of us thru youtube are probably the guys you want to ignore their advice or input. If their telling you their SV27 just broke 60. Tell them to go back on their meds. Their current dosage is not working.

My only thoughts are there is bad everywhere but I am glad we have it. I think it has opened up more doors than shut. So a few are nuts...search around for non boat stuff...there is some crazy crap on there!

Or you can comment that they are basically nuts and it won't last.

I've found, and have personally(and expensively) fallen prey to several "marketing videos" in the r/c helicopter realm. Finding what seems to be a model that would fit my level of flying experience (not much) and viewing a demo video showing smooth takeoffs, steady hovering and controlled flight, I buy the heli. Then proceed to find out that I can't get six inches off the deck before things go really bad . It's apparent that the video pilots are highly experienced flyers demo'ing what's being represented as a a begginer-intermediate level model - and believe me; it takes LOTS of practice to fly these critters. Bottom line : I'm in total agreement in being highly suspicious of what you see and what is represented in any and all videos

Do not get me started on this thread, as to the idiots who wish to portray themselves as masters of fast boating skills and lead newbies down the garden path to a very expensive disaster.

Well I am certainly not a master of fast boating skills and can't edit videos very well, but I can have fun trying! To me this is one of the good things about You Tube, sharing videos that would otherwise be too large to send to someone individually.
