? Mean Machine For LSO ??

My LSO boat has 4 seasons of hard racing on it and I am thinking of building a new boat for LSO, I have a Brand New MM Cat hull that I am thinking of using, Has anyone set up a Mean Machine for racing in LSO. I plan on Using a Black Jack 26 Motor and CC Hydra 120 esc. I have no Cat experience So I would appreciate any help or info.

I race against one in LSO regularly. It works well. Won the class yesterday.

Any ideas what spec motor offers the best overall performance?

In my opinion, and please understand that I had this opinion BEFORE I got involved with ProBoat... The BJ26 motor offers the best combination of torque and RPM for a Mono or Offshore, especially in a larger boat.

I think one of the guys in our club was running the UL-1 motor, and it was pretty fast, but it would get hot.

Testing these motors under controlled conditions shows that for the test load, the amp draw on the UL-1 motor was quite a bit higher. The BJ and SV motors can generally handle more prop. The question becomes can your hull handle the prop.

On the Mean Machine, I'd have no hessitation on using the BJ motor for a competitive setup.

It sounds like my thoughts were about correct, My thinking is just about the same as yours Thanks for the input, I have had great luck with the BJ in my current LSO hull.

IME the BJ and SV motors work a bit better with the MM, although one club member had a great running MM with the UL-1 setup. Mine runs well with the BJ motor/ESC with an m545 or m645. Either prop gives speeds around 40 mph or a bit more depending on how high I fly the hull. Set it up so the CG can be adjusted between 29% and 32%.
