it sounded like a shotgun. i'm glad they wern't charging on our porch. my mom would cut me and my dad off from rc

it was a very manly boom. you could here the air pressur blow the hatch off. the battery casing was loged into the expanding foam in the front

Wow. Any pictures of the hole in the hull? Did it crack the hull/deck seam?

i could get a pick. it's about the size of a quarter, so i just epoxied it. the joint was fine but the hairline cracks keep pooping up in the gel coat every where

Hey dude, looks like you where running a HV-maxx system? I see the novak all over the gear, and 12 cells, long can....

That motor setup was NOT made for marine use. I am sure with a gear drive you could do something with it, but I have read of lots of issues with those..

I feel for ya.....Just thaught you would like to know. I once was gonna use my HV-Maxx in a boat, but I sold it cause people told me not to. The last post I read about one, the guy kept blowing the motor out cause of the load.

So when the hole blew in the hull, did it start to sink?

don't worry, i haven't used it since the first ten runs or so. i now run a 14xl on twenty cells .

no it didn't, the hole was in the freeboard luckily
