    It wont go straight

Can anyone tell me why my Drifter wont go straight when I accelerate? The steering is centered and working properly. The boat is fast but it constantly pulls to the right.

How big is your prop and has it been sharpened? Both are reasons a hull can pull to the right.

Prop is an x445 sharpened and balanced.Just seems that it torques to the right and I have to fight it to stay straight.Havent been able to make a full speed run yet.

Im not exactly sure how to measure for rudder depth, but I measured it from the bottom of the sponson to the bottom of the rudder. It is 1.5 inches down. Are Drifters known for this?I bought it from FineDesignrc and it has their hardware on the back.Everything seems top notch and assembled very well. The boat is a Drifter L.Im new to rc boats and appreciate everyones help. Can wait to make a full speed blast to see what mph it puts out.

Make sure your prop is sharp and straight on the edges.......very important. I chased a strange problem for a while one time and finally noticed that the prop was bent a little. It must have smacked something in the water and i never saw the damage. Just a thought.

Thanks Gary. The boat did this right turn move on the maiden voyage on the water.I bought the prop with my boat new from FD balanced and sharpened.Ill check it though.Could it be the torque from the motor?I have a 1515/1Y on 6s.I also put my ul1 drive train in the boat and ran it on 4s just to see what it would do.Same problem.

You may have to shim the strut, that is prop walk causing your boat to turn right.

When Building a boat, I always offset the drive-line to the right a bit, the amount varies depending on the size of the boat and the props I will use.

A boat I currently have that I didn't build from scratch has the driveline centered, to stop it turning to the right ive had to put a 1mm thick washer under the right side of the strut bracket to get it to track better, whilst not ideal, its a quicker fix than removing the whole driveline and re-installing it offset.
