    Seaducer Mono?

I am thinking about buying a Seaducer 20 mono (33") to replace my Delta Force knock off hull. Just wondering if the large price tag is worth it for this boat. I know they have been around for many years and are supposed to be top notch but are they really worth 3 or 4 times what a Delta Force hull costs?

I used to run a gas one. Bought the hull used. Great handeling boat, wasnt a big fan of chop.. dont know what they go for now, but I think price is more the name than it being some "amazing perfect hull". BUT, Ive never run one FE either.....

Ray they are well built boats, I love mine. The downside to them is taping the hatch.

Since this pic was taken I have aquired another 38 and a 42. Pics of the 42 will show up here shortly.

Doug did you have to mod the hull to tape it down?

Mate I have the electric lay up 33" and I LOVE it, set up right they are a VERY slippery boat. To give you an idea set up the same as my DF33, hydra 240, 1515 1y, 4s 40c 1P and a modded m447 it will run at 60 mph and have run times approx 1 1/2 min longer than the DF. Why? better hull with less drag, less weight being carbon fibre. The tape issue is a no brainer once you work out the right way to do it. Chop is no problem, I had a race with a hot gas Falcon Cat that runs in the 60's all day long and he just could not catch me, the little Seaducer handled the chop better, just skipped straight over it. They are worth the Cash $$$ IMO. They are very set up sensitive though, not forgiving like the DF brick.

Would love to see an interior shot Andy. With that long deck and narrow beam, 4s2p must be a tight fit.

I think if I order one I may go for the 40 instead of the 20. I would like to see your tape down jobs.

Please post a video of the no brainer hatch taping.LOL I've been SAWin Seaducers since 06 and it's still a PITA next to the other hulls on the market.
Mike I have run 4S2P in my 33" mono. I ran two 2s packs on each side.

No Ray I didn't have to modify the hulls. You do want to use Lexan for the hatch, not Plexiglass.

Doug how would you compare the seaducer to the Rico? The Seaducer is another mono I have been looking at.

I have never run my Seaducer on the oval course because of the hatch. I get busy at the races and want someting I can get ready fast.
However, the Nitro boats handle great and run as good or better than anything out there.
If I start getting my butt handed to me (regularly) at the races I'd consider running a Seaducer that's for sure. But it will have a different hatch.

I stopped using hockey tape and now use Nito electrical tape on the Seaducer. I tape the back and front first then the sides , I then do the back and front again. When I tub tested due to tape problems this way of doing it was so water tight the hot air ( due to using hot water to tub test) expanded so much the cover started to distort. No leaks. Yes I tried a lot of times in the hot water to get it right but now I have it down pat it is no problem. Not as easy as the DF but worth the effort.
As for 2p I can not tell you as I run 1p. Ran a modded x447/3 today ( the usual, back cut, 4mm bar cut, detounged and pitched up just a tad) ran 62mph on 1p !! And with a gasser on the pond.
These hulls are all about the set up, start where seaducer tell you and do ONE thing at a time, it is as little as 2 deg and 1mm from hero to zero but when you get it it makes a DF look very average. Today I moved my CG from 27% to 29% and the difference with this prop was chalk and cheese. Turns are another area with these hulls that blow me away, just back off a blib on the power as you turn them in and full power, they actually accelerate through the apex of the turn, just amazing and I still get a BIG buzz turning this thing. The more I run the gamer I get, and this keeps amazing me

Its a shame that guys like Jerry can't make a boat for the FE guys with simple tape down hatches. All it would realy take is a slight redesign of the top of the hull. Look at Phil Thomas, he changed his Sport 21 hull so that the hull could be taped down much easier. I guess some of the die hard nitro guys could care less about the Electric community but I think they could sell way more boats with some mods. Lots of companies are starting to see the light and making FE versions of their popular hulls and even making new hulls just for FE. I guess I will just stick with my Delta Force hull for now, a good tape down hatch is a must for me!

Jerry's new 26" mono is FE friendly, so maybe that is a sign of things to come.

Ahh that is good news! I think I would def be interested in a 38" SD3 for next season as long as it is FE friendly.

It's nice seeing companys like Insane and Seaducer taking notice of the FE market.
