Unfortunately when you do the share number of transactions paypal does on a annual basis you will eventually build a large base of dissatisfied customers. A quick bit of math tells me that if they do 1,000,000 in transactions and 99.99% of the people are happy. That means 100 people are not out of 1 million. I'm sure they do much more that 1 million in transactions each year.

As a merchant I'm quite happy. They have given me and MANY other small businesses the tools to succeed. Not sure if you guys know what it takes to start a site with a traditional credit card merchant? 5 years ago it would have been expensive and a daunting task for a basic web designer. With paypal it takes literally a half hour to take a payment on a web page. As a matter of fact without paypal I would have never started ose.

I'm not saying they are perfect. But for now they do 99.99% of what I need.

I purchase a lot of merchandise from the internet. I do not like spreading around my credit card information to a lot of different sites. Some are more secure than others and could be hacked or an employee of a site you dont know, could steal the information. Paypal has saved me 3 times with transactions on Ebay. I also use paypal to keep my credit card information in one place that I believe is secure. Of course, I do not mind using either a credit card or paypal with Steven.

        my 2 cents

I use Paypal for the same reason. I don't like spreading my CC numbers all over. I would also not have a problem with paying Steven directly. As a matter of fact when I made my first order from the new OSE site I had to register, like everyone else. Well I was in a rush and used the password witch protects all 3 of my bank accounts, Paypal, Ebay, pention and health insurance. As a testament to the security of the software encryption Steven has chosen to protect our infomation I have never had a problem. I don't ever forsee one either. There are very few people I feel comfortable with possible acess to that type of information. OSE & Paypal are about it.

Well I must be one of the 100 out of a million. Steve I would have thought you'd have some horror stories. I got 2 - sold a GPS to a guy in the UK - he did paypal; got the COMPLETED in the status area. I packed it and shipped it. Well 11 days later - yes 11 days they took out the money from my account and a vague explaination in their details. I called then up and had a nice lady but, of course, they can't give you any specific information about my transaction with this buyer - that's against his privacy rulws, but it could be this or it could be that..... bottom line is his card didn't go thru, they tried it 3 or 4 times every couple of days until they gave up and took my money. THE GUY AT THIS TIME HAD REC'D THE GPS ALREADY.

Story #2 - Shipped another GPS to UK and this guy after weeks said he didn't get it. He didn't take insurance as an option which - before the USPS price increase and change in service - so all I had was a post office receipt with his custom form # on it and amount paid. I alway scan each custom form too so we were able to show this custom form and that that item was mailed off. SORRY that's not good enough - even though I packed it up and mailed it off - if he doesn't get it because it's mis directed; stolen or lost - that's my fault. They can only help the me if I had a TRACABLE vs internet tracking number. Well at that time the only trackable service was Express and Nobody was going to pay $70 for that service - so SORRY no tracking, no credit then - So again Paypal took his money out of my account - he never got the GPS and I lost out on his payment and a GPS.

STEVE try Google Checkout - some people like it better than Paypal; you can use it at more stores than paypal, and for you - they won't charge you any transaction fees for the rest of this year. For me that matters since Every UK sales they hit me with 3 fees and ones called OVER THE BOARDER fee - what's that? Plus you know when the card is actually charged, since you tell Google when to do it - the buyer know when it's been shipped and it's great over all/

I had a friend buy an item from Canada. It was shipped, but lost or stolen before it reached our border. The USPS will not guarantee delivery for anything shipped or money order outside the USA. He lost his money and the item.

The only reason i will buy from china is that it has been reliable, so far.
