    5S on a neu 1515?

I'm running a neu 1515 1500KV motor on 4S, using a hydra 240amp ESC. How do you think it would hold up if I ran 5S?

I'd skip the 5s and jump into 6s......My stock BlackJack motor does not mind it at all!

Hold up... thats what its made to run on.... I run mine on 6s in my mean machine.... at 6s 1500kv its only 1,000 more rpm then a 2200kv 1515 1y... so correct me if Im wrong but it is a 6s motor for big speed.... to be honest the 4s is just slow......

what prop are you turning on that with 4s? The thing with Neu motors they like props!

I'm still experimenting with the prop setup. On 4S, X440 and X637 are too small. Graupner 45 works well, I'm pretty sure it will throw a Graupner 48 just fine (which is close to an X642 I believe).

Any problem mixing a 2S lipo with a 4S lipo pack to get to 6S (assuming same brand and C rating?)?

Same brand, "C" and mah should be just fine.

                    Newbie question--

Assume same basic motor (ie, neu 1515), but what varies can be battery voltage and KV on the motor...

Say I want to target 35K RPM (give or take). Seems to me I could run a 1500KV motor with 5S, 2300KV motor on 4S.

What are the pros/cons of each approach aside from battery cost/weight?

The 1500kv would need 6s to get your 35k rpms...............it also will draw less amps and run cooler than the 2300 on 4s. Cool running is a priority for me personally. The 1500 on 6s would be my choice.

a good target rpm is about 26-33k so that you you can use a larger more effiecent prop. to high of rpm and you have to use smaller props.
