    My ignorant questions

I'm still pretty new to this boating infactuation I have aquired so I am going to you pro boaters out here for answers to some of my unknowledgable or perhaps even stupid questions. Any Help would be greatly appreciated in my quest to become a knowledgable and experienced boater. The question I would like to toss up in the air is: What is the size comparison between the UL-1 motor and a 540 motor? Are the cans the same size? Any help would be great! And if I am wasting anyones time with my ignorance on boating.....

I believe the are essentially the same size. I have an ammo 2300 which is close enough.

Dom is correct. They are pretty close. What are you trying to do, and maybe we can help more?

Well, I have a 23" rigger with a .130 flex cable and I am thinking of putting a UL-1 motor and esc in it. It is set up for a straight holeshot, so I'm not really concerned with to much power around turns. I would like to see speeds of 60+. Would I aquire those speeds with the UL-1 setup?

That power plant can achieve 60 mph but the 23" hull is pretty small for it. You will need a decent-sized 4S pack or two 2S packs - is there enough room for them?

You can gain a bit of performance from a better ESC with adjustable timing advance. For a hole shot you can't beat the X props, although they are not the best for top speeds in a rigger with that motor. A bent-on x645 (you may need the tongue) might get you there, but prop torque during the hole shot will be high in that small rigger. We played with FE drag racing for awhile and saw a big S rigger torque over onto its top at the hole shot.....

It would be a very tight squeeze. Any suggestions as to what motor and esc to put in it so I can still get top speed?
