fastec amo 2300 kv motor upgrade

would an amo 36-50 2300 kv make a good motor upgrade for a PB Fastec? would I need to change out my stock esc 45 amp ( I have a new 60 amp ul-1 esc ,old style with the smaller caps) and what prop should I use? Thanks for any help I want to go faster!!

I think a ul-1 motor would be better.(6-poles) Or a castle 1515 would be awesome on 4s!(2200kv) I didnt like the ammo in my supervee. Actually how bout keeping the stock proboat motor, upgrading the esc and running 5-6s??

2 2s will make 4s if you handy with a solder iron make a harness or buy a 4800 kv xcelorin or a 3500 kv velineon and on 2s in a 22" or less hull you should be okay. Better than my first fast electric setup. My first was a brushed 12 turn bby oval master on 7.2 good for about 20 -25 mph

i think something on the 2000kv range should be okay. its an expensive hobby to pick and try, and the higher kv motors burned me out of three esc before i moved up to higher rated parts. Im glad to see someone else running a fastech

If you are still set on using your 60a AQ esc........and 4s I imagine........i would suggest one of these as your esc is the limiting factor here...............you will turning high 20's to 30k rpms with these

I have two of these motors(in 28" and 30" vees) and if it was my boat and my decision, i'd get this, its a powerhouse, and its inexpensive...............first hand experience has me sold on them. 36x56 1800kv

That turngiy motor looks great for $20.00 what size cooling jacket does it need. I want to make this boat faster but still controlable. When I get the money I want to do whole build I would have loved to be able to afford Jesseys challanger now but all in good time.

Keep in mind that it is only $20, thats why i posted it, bang for the buck................i was assuming you werent wanting to spend a whole lot on it...........i could be wrong though. The Aq 2030kv is going to be higher quality and faster, its just your $$ and preference. Folks have pushed the turnigy with 5s and 6s in boats with good results.

So..........there are better motors you can get(neu's etc.....), it just depends on how much $$ you want to spend!
