I think what he's saying is that questions on measuring a motors constants are so elementary that you shouldn't need to ask.

      What Andy said.

Sometimes you do ask the simplest of questions suffixed by occasional pearls of wisdom.
You are a hard bloke to pin to a board and say " see.. that's what he's made of ..."

Naw I guess sometimes I ask questions I know the answer to. Sorry for being a dork LOL.ILL be all the dumb in the world compared to full fledged EE's your where im trying to go so please keep leading the blind . Dont forget even though those questions seem basic someone on the forum benefits . Not to mention if I have someone with a phd in electronics answer questions then the other guys on the forum can trust the answer without heated debate and we can all learn alot from that expertise.Trust me I have a stack of BLDC design notes and apps but sometimes getting an answer from you guys helps me put it all together. Again thanks to both of you(andy and wayne) . I really think some people will have benefitted tremendously from you guys input. Thanks again and please continue to lead me and this thread in the right direction;one of learning and fun.

Hey wayne I love robots too. I keep planning to build a surveilence robot for my house that I can monitor and control with my smartphone anywhere in the world via ASPNET.You know they have a publication on robots now. We need to get together on some of that stuff too.

Wayne look at this picture I have a question. On the m2000 there are some complimentary smt capacitors and resitors on the power block. When this one was damaged some of them fell off. Can you look at yours and tell me what they are . In the pic I have arrows pointing to the location of the solder pads where the componets once were. Most of the resistors seem to be 1k with the acception of a few 4.7k's the caps im clueless. I dont have a capacitance meter here at home so ... My guess would be .1mfd but im not sure can you help me out?

Hey randy hope u can see this picture. Its a water cooling plate for the m2000 it 1/4 inch thick by 3.5 inches long by 2 inches it has 2 thru bores from end to end bored to be tapped with m4 or m5 nipples whichever you choose. The bores are in from the sides 1/2 inch and centered on th 1/4 inch stock. what can you do for me? You have a m2000 so you shoud have a good idea of the dimensions. It would replace the bottom heatsink on the M2000.

are you an ee or a jester in king authors court? Come on man stop playing theres no marking on the caps firstly secondly I just need to know what goes back on the 2 pads where they feel off. IF "focus" means my camera thats the best I can do. All I can tell you is that if youre looking at the speed control from the motor side its the pad all the way to the left of the first set of headers on the motor side just left of the 4.7 ohm resistor. The other pad is just on the right of the the same set of headers and just to the right of that pad is two via's ready to accept another header.

In the pic there nothing to see but two bare solder pads where the arrows point. I know the pads either had a resistor or a small cap I just need to figure what goes back where.

If you were looking to read components theres nothing there. I may just have to wait till the other arrives.IS THERE ALOT OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SWORDFISH LOGIC BOARD AND THE M2000? Have you ever tried the usb adapter on the m2000?Hey wayne maybe you could for me and the rest of the forum better explain the benefits of closed loop esc design?I tried but no one seemed to bite. They seem scared of any real change until they see one do it then they jump on the bandwagon. I remember suggesting caps on rumrunners 4 or 5 years ago. No one was running them then. Then venom came out with some externals and whallah everyone knows the benefit of caps all of a sudden. Its funny but its true.
