Ul-1 esc what's a good motor match up

I have a ul-1 esc and want a good motor to go with it so I can upgrade my fastec. It's hard to leave good enough alone when you want to go faster.

Either a Feigao 13L(1999kv) or an the Aquacraft 36x56 2030kv would be a couple of good options for more speed on 4s.

Hard to beat the old standby of the 8XL 2075 KV and with 4S she sings.

The 8XL is a great motor...............but it would surely fry a 60a AQ esc...................

I run a 9xl on a SV controller on 4s with no issues, just watch your prop.

          The 8XL would be fine.

I was recommended to use a 240A for a 9xl on 4S-- which is probably overkill-- maybe go with what you have and if it fries you can use a higher rated ESC for the 2nd one...

What would be a good prop to run with the 8xl ul-1 set up?

probably something in the x438 range...................although my humble opinion is that an 8XL is too much motor for your esc............i hope it works though!

                  Is this in a UL-1? A 8xl in a ul-1 will blow that esc fairly easily. I popped caps on a etti 150 with a 8xl and m445 prop in a ul-1.

I just put a thread out (see MHZ Data Thread) that shows the amp pull on a 10xl with a 23" boat, 4s, and x437 prop. AND I am using an Super Vee ESC. Have you noticed that those ESC's seem to be far more reliable than the ones we buy in the aftermarket? Just a thought.

The SV ESC may well be a more potent piece of equipment as you have found..............but the AQ 60a has had serious problems................A tech at Hobbico(AQ corp) told me, "yeah.........they're kinda hit or miss.........were going to add bigger caps, hopefully that will solve it"...........if the ESC in question is more than about 4 mos. old its the old one..................and it will not handle an 8XL with a prop that will get it up on plane...........
