    understanding FE

    Hello,
Is their a website that a newbee could visit that can explain motor size : ESC : batteries etc.
I asked a question yesterday about a 3060 kv motor using two 5000 2s 40c in series, and the answers i got were opposite of what i would have thought.
That motor should apparently use 2s, or 3s. I really dont get it.
I beleive what the guys are saying having much more expierence than myself, but i feel i need it explained to me in full... this is why i would like to get turned on to a website so that you guys dont have to type out a novel.
Any help would be great. ITS SNOWING HERE TODAY

    Thanks.

    Steve.

Ryan has spent much time compiling this info. I wish others would ask and read like you...

Speed - Electric - NEW to FE? BUILDING a boat? What's a LiPo? Look Here FIRST!! - Thread Title: NEW to FE? BUILDING a boat? What's a LIPO? Look Here FIRST! This thread had been created to assist new boaters, boaters looking to build a new boat or completely new to the electric scene. It will replace the thread titled

Yeah, we cancelled our race at Clariville pond, next week maybe.

Not an expert but what I have read from those that are is 30k RPM is a good number to shoot for.

      KV = RPM per volt. So 3060KV x 14.8V = 45288RPM. A bit to high.

It's just a little rule of thumb I use. Hopefully some of the studs around here can do a better job at explaining.

here is the FE bible!!! Thanks ReddyWatts if you need help on how to use it or if any doubt feel free to ask!

If your motor is given for 2 to 3S this is mainly because of bearing rpm limit and probably efficiency loss above a certain rpm.

As Teach wrote, 30000rpm is a good start!

              Ray,
Do you have a map to get to Clarville? I would like to come down and check it out one day. Mabee join your club. Is that possible? I live in Barrie (not to far).
I have never raced against anyone except my brother for fun, and that was nitro, but we have both resently moved to the "DARK SIDE". (FE).
I onlyhave two FE boats right now, and not allot of gear, but ill get their.
Could you possibly let me know when you guys are running next. Again i would like to check it outbefor i commit to anything.

              Thanks.

              Steve.
