Why are you going for the HV series? Are you planning to run 6s or more?

That motor may be a little small for a 36" hull BUT since its a outboard it may work or may not. THe bigger problem that you will have is running 6s on a 2200KV motor. You are looking at over 48,000RPM......NEVER going to work in a tunnel hull.

Are you planning to run it SAW only? If that is the answer I can't help you there, I only run oval.

Sorry I misread your post (not the first time). Your 1500 KV motor will be a little hot but def workable on 6s. I ran a 1500KV motor on 6s and it was very fast. For a 36" Boat I run 1527 motors but I think in a outboard the 1521 would do just fine. As far as a ESC goes I have a feeling the Hydra 120 would be a little to weak but the Hydra 240HV would be overkill and hard on the wallet. Might want to try that Swordfish 240HV that Steve is selling.

There are lots of "inexpensive " controllers out there for a lot less money than the Castle controllers (Turnigy 180) comes to mind and are proving to be very reliable.

OSE sells Swordfish and Etti controllers as well.

Personally, I've never seen or heard of that large of a motor being used on an outboard.

I think that on 6s, the cable might have a hard time surviving.

Have you considered a Fiego xl series motor? It will fit that drive. The bigger Neu's would need some sort of custom adapter plate I would think.

the neu 1515 and 1514 fit with no adapter but i was not sure if they would be enough for my boat. after reading what you said, they should be? thanks.
