Great info. One other item I did not mention is most of my Xl motors are used so I really do not know much history about them. Time to get new motors as well.

I think I will step it up to 7 degrees timing.

If the LVC keeps hitting too early can I back it down to 3S programming to lower it and see what happens?

Still going to try the bec but will probably get rid of it.

      Get rid of it! LOL

=> Just a little encouragement. I've never had an issue since I switched to separate power.

Good to hear. I never used them before so not sure how trusty they are. Just know I never had issues when not using them!

...im also trying to get a chance to test my himodel esc also. I hope that it performs as expected based on the cheap price. thanks to the guys who have provided the above links very helpfull.

Ran again yesterday and after a couple minutes she statrts to slow...I think because I have set to soft cutoff. I am charging cells now to see what I pulled out of them. I put an m440 on it and all was cool but still slowing after just a few short laps. I am going to set the cutoff back to hard and see if it is that then re-program it for 3S to lower the cutoff. If that is it then we know the LVC is crap.

I think I am going to drop the cutoff to 3s or 9V and see what happens. Probably should just get a liposhield.

I am running the bec still but do not think this would give it this kind of issue.

Just so you all know...it is a 150a Sky Wing. I am trying several and decided to try this one because of price.

This is also a MM hull and does not run wet...actually runs on the last couple inches...almost too high.

Just got back from the lake...had to fish it out and one was a complete 360 roll that landed right. I put a batt pack in it and cut the red wire. Did not get enouh time to see how long it would run but sure seemed different.

BUT>>> advanced it 7 degrees and holy crap she came alive. Spinning a M440 in the MM.

Fluid is right...as usual...I actually found everything cool and I was getting more power and speed and sure seems I got longer runs with less mha used. Go figure.

Once the wind lays down I plan to go back out this evening. I think the BEC pulling on the system with high amps is an issue and wants to shut it down and lose signal. I spent some time reading a bunch before cutting the wire and all indications are ANY ESC that is running above 3S should have a UBEC or sep. batt pack. Most bec units are crap and generate a good amount of heat.

I only used 1200 mha but seems to run longer, cooler and certainly faster. I will use 7 on all my fiegos now.

I am also certain she can be propped up since I was being very easy on prop size. X442 or 642 should be no problem...maybe even a 445.

I plan to run it until the LVC kicks and see what mha it takes...last time it was about 2200 mha from 4000 cells.

Jeff, I'll state this here for others considering taking you experience on this subject and cut the red wire on a ESC.

What I do is, when I don't want to use an internal ESC's BEC, I put a very short extension on the receiver wire and I cut the red wire on that. This way, I have the ESC's BEC available if I ever want it or intact if I sell it.

I know it doesn't help now, but at least you can consider it in the future.

I hear ya on the extensions. I cut it and do not plan to use it anymore. I think my cells are already losing some guts but more on the way and a min of 5000.

Neverthe less the ESC as far as power is holding fine. Going to get the 200 amp version and see how it does.

It does seem the LVC hits when there is about half the mah is left in them.

Now I know the bec is safe I can set the LVC to hard and see if it is shuting down. I think the cells are fine for lower amps stuff and I cranked the timing up. I need to time it and see what it is doing...just too windy today so had to be on and off.

There is no need to cut any wires extension or not. Use a T-pin to pry up the tab holding the connector in place and pull it out. Now just fold it back and tape it or use a bit of heat shrink to insulate it. This way you can push it back in at any time and use it.

                      oooooo....toooo late :)

I left enough wire so I could put it back together if I need to.
