Easy way to keep the hatch on

After a high speed fliperoo, I pulled the Drifter out of the water & the hatch was torn halfway off from water pressure tearing at the tape [ thank goodness for corrosion-X & pool noodle flotation!, no damage to the electronics]. For safety, I epoxied some small rivets to the hatches, marked the ends with paint to locate hole{s} in hull, drilled the mating holes in hull ; voila !

Ya know, I have never tested the hatches to make sure they all float. Has anyone ever added floatation to a hatch? What did you use?

A piece of piano wire are commonly used to keep the RC plane canopy in place

Actually I've thought about hatch flotation improvement, adding a 6mm Depron layer inside would probably do it

Actually, I had not noticed it was dirty until I took the picture. I never lay it on the paint.

Yes we do and thanks to your pics have nearly finished on my triton hatch. Have had the tape rip once at about 50. Not great so this should help. Thanks
