I used the Black can above which is for larger gaps. I filled the front cavity of my deep-V about 1/4 filled and it expanded to about 80% of the room overnight. Later I refilled the rest expecting the 300% expansion but it grew more, so I carved the excess with the hobby knife. Fully cured overnight.

It is easy for Deep-V front, but more tricky for where the pocket has small opening and the inside may stay uncured. Just like the other mentioned, fill a little at a time and let it sit overnight and refill as needed. It works better as reinforce and strenghten the hull unless you flip your boat a lot.

What I like to do is spray about 20% into the hull and but the boat in the bathroom, trun on the shower really hot and let the room steam.. and the stuff expands and sets quick!
It was ureal how well the foam expanded and was very light weight

FWIW I put them on my hatches and by work great. BUT on my BBY OM29 hatch I put too much so I decided to cut it. It DOES retain some water!

If you use it try not to cut it and you'll be golden.

I have no idea why people continue to use this stuff... There are many stories about people ruining completely good hulls with this crap...

Raydee, it may work fine for your hatch, but I would find a better solution. IMO Try gluing Styrofoam or pool noodles..

              BINGO.

Most people who ruin their hulls are trying to fill the entire void at once.

Now if people would not be so damn impatient and take the advice of people who have used it for years with great success,,,,there would be no problems.

Yeah I took my time and only used a little and it worked out perfectly. The nice part about it is that the great stuff is easy to carved and sticks nicely. I can Def see people spraying to much at a time and ruining a boat.

Raydee stay calm....remember your training LOL! You guys are right. Allso the other reason i used it was when my boats crashed at 100+ there would be very little cracking from impact where as before she would really " crack up". But yes you have to take your time and you can fill voids that you couldnt possibly access with noodles or cut foam .....and the more area filled...the less water she can swallow.

Why bother using it at all. Its messy, its ugly , its hard to remove, and its expantion foam made for insulation not floatation. And it does retain water.
One of those swim noodles can keep a full grown man afloat, a boat dosent weigh very much even full of water.

Does not retain water, makes the hull stronger ,and adds flotation,,thats why we bother.

                            well lets see,
                            for me it's not messy....
why would I need to remove it? it stays put
insulation? who cares it floats, it's foam!
and it does not retain water if done right

I would love to see someone shoot an amount, let it cure fully, weight it, submerge it in water for 24-48 hours, and then weight it again...

THAT will tell you if it absorbs water..... Enquiring minds want to know

Wish I had a dollar for every time I see a thread suggesting the spray can stuff.

Been doing this way too long folks....stick to pool noodles.

If you want to reinforce your hull with foam use the 2 part mix sold from US composits. 2-4# stuff. But you will weigh down your ride.
