John I decided to do it like your hatch on all my hulls. I ordered 10 SS Knurled thumb screws and epoxied Blind nuts under the lip of my hulls. I am going to use a rubber washer under them to keep the water out. That should keep my hatches on for sure.

Ray, I still have my first two FE mono hulls and each secured with six blind nuts and SS allen head bolts with O rings and weather strip around the hull openning but I found them a pita to secure and open. I then got lazy and used tape only. I may rethink this after your escapade.

Yeah Douggie it was def a eye opener for me. There is a chance that it may never happen to me again but I really don't want to take that chance.

Yeah but sometimes after waiting for the weekend to come you have to take some chop.

Can you take off the hatch and take a pic of the internal mount points?
                Thanks!

Exotica I was going to do that exact sme thing but decided thumb screws would be a little easier and "toolless".

Here is what I ended up doing on my SprintCat hull and I will be doing this on all my hulls. I ended up using Thumb screws with blind nuts mounted on the inside of the hull. I used Nuts loctited on the bottom side of the hatch so they can't come off and I used thick rubber washers under the blind nuts to seal out and water.
