Thanks to all of you guys, everything you brough to me, make me feel confident, and I'm going as soon as possible to gear my 8XL on my mono and investigate before I mod my cat, and certainly invest in a top performance hull, but chances are that I'll use twin 8xl with higher gear ratio

the Kyosho Lambroghini Cat C-1 hull is thick ABS with a hardening resin sprayed inside and out from the factory. the ebay Admiral is very thin ABS covered with decals.
as i built my " Sea Terror " C-1, even though the hull felt tough, i still fiberglassed all the inside adding stiffener rods here and there along with
some 1/8 inch ply where needed and modified the steps.
i could have powered it with one motor but went with two. it's awesome. i went up from an 80 amp esc to 120 amp esc and gained 8 mph w/ 16 cells each motor on geared transmission 1:2 - 1 . after last roll over, one 120 amp esc did not recover so am using the 80 amps. YES you can tell the difference in speed from 38 to 44 mph on this 42 inch 13 pound cat.
i would like to build another and go direct drive with the KB45 motors. the Fiegos are drawing 67 amps w/ X447 L&R. don't know how the KBs would do amp wise since Reddywatts cat performs real good.

I get your point Robby76, for sure the C-1 is a much better hull than the Admiral.
Would you use two KB or only one? one can deliver more than 3000watt!!!

i am HOOKED on twin drives since i built my sea terror. sure it cost twice the $$$$$ but being at the lake and throttling up seeing the water churn spray and watching the rooster tails take hold hull slapping the waves and you can hear it........priceless.

new motors 4_5&6 blade props are coming out and being tested along with affordable escs. not into lipos yet.

what a sport this is cat hydro rigger mono drag boat

i ran nitro hydros in the '80s, my electric introduction started here at O S E
          thank you steve.

well, I'm not sure dual drive really cost twice, single requires bigger motor (bit more expensive) and bigger ESC (also a bit more expensive), stronger drive line, what really afraids me is that a single drive will also require more amp so Lipo's are almost necessary, and they also cost more than Nimh
My mono's single drive 8XL+ESC (drive , rudder, motor mount... are home made) costed me less than 70euro (100$), sure it's just good enough for fun run... but in my budget

rumrunner has a thread on the hpr hull. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$$$$ think you have to take a 2nd mortgage on ones home.

yeah I've read it, I also contacted Hanspeter for a quote, 500Euros, is reasonnable for such a high quality hull and hardware, lot of people agree to say it is a much better hull than the H&M Drifter M

Steve should import a full container of it to cut the transport cost down!
