    11XL on 6v ?

    wil a 11XL be ok on 6c in a DF 33 with a X642 ?

running the same boat now with a FMD13XL on the same setup.
after a 6-8 minute sport run the motor comes back at around 86-104f depending on the water temp.

I will guess that you are asking about running 6S on this setup?
I use FEcalc as an estimater for my setups and it says that going from a 13XL to 11XL is a big jump. Speed is up and Amps are way up.

Can I ask why you want to swap motors instead of going up in prop size?
It is a lot easier and can be done in smaller steps.
      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

mostly becose i already done the prop changes but the boat behaves best with the 642. but also becose my 13XL is starting to get a little worn out so it wil be in need of a replacement sometime soon.

I think that setup would work well.

did a little rest today with my 13XL and the motor came back at 82f so there is room for pushing the setup a little harder :D
can also do the 12XL that is only 1 step down the line on motors. but always open for ideas.

and how are those castle motors. are they realy worth the price bump for a sport racer ?

Klaus, do you have a data logger? The 12XL is what I would try on the same setup, you mention the 13Xl is a bit tired and the 12XL I am sure will bring back a smile, as you have tried other props and like the X642

no i dont have a data logger anymore, my poor eagle tree diddent like water
probarly get the 12XL to keep the amp down (from the 11xl) and the speed up.

For the size of your hull choose a 540XL sized motor. RPM unloaded must be around 3000/32000

For a catamaran RPM must be a little higher 32000/35000

I' ve got an Agitator cat' on 6S with a FSD 540XL/11 motor

unloaded the 580 9L would be 31 600. figured it would give some more "grunt" for the same amp compared to a 540 12XL
