    Cat stinger length....???

    Whats the rule of thumb for this? need to know how long a stinger i need for a 40" cat from the transom back?...........thanks in advance,.....Al

    Hey Al, Dont really know of an exact "rule of thumb", but I can tell you that the HPR stingers are about 3.5 inches on the HPR06 (45ish inch boat)

      Someone in RCG told me its suppose to be about 1/10th of full length,from flat transom area to bow.So for a 40" hull is about 4".So your suggestion is very close.Doesn`t have to be exactly 4" but close enough.Just wanted to corroborate.Thanks,.......Al

        Now there's a group of boaters who should know.....

        There can be no "rule of thumb" based only on hull length. Different hulls will perform differently, and what works on one may not on another. OTOH it probably makes little difference if it's 3.5" or 4.5". Height is a more important measurement, which again depends on the hull and its ride characteristics. Be sure to have some adjustability in your build.
