    Lipo Shield Questions

I'm considering getting the Dimension Engineering Lipo Shield LVC and have a few questions.

I use SV27 ESC's in my boats with the BEC disabled (I use a separate receiver pack). Will this product work ok with this arrangement? I read another thread where someone wasn't able to get it to work with the SV27 ESC. Anyone else have experience with this?

Also, I read another thread where the Lipo Shield seemed to rob power. Anyone else experience this?

Do I have to worry about it getting wet?

One last thing: I would not want to use it when racing as I like to keep things as simple as possible in this situation - less chance of something going wrong. I assume it's simple and quick to disable it for this?

    Thanks,

    Greg

Greg I'm pretty sure the person you are referring to had a defective unit. It should work fine with your setup.

      Thanks Steven,

another thing that just occurred to me is it seems that the wires from the Lipo shield need to be soldered to the battery connectors of the ESC. This would mean it would not be quickly transferrable between boats. Correct? I would need to get one for each boat unless I move the ESC with it between boats?

      Thanks,

      Greg

If your refering to the one I had, yes, it was defective. Had nothing to do w/ the SV ESC. And I did mine exactly how your thinking w/ a plug so I could easily remove it if need be. I used a RX/ rx-batt plug to do it. Worked perfectly and kept size to a minimum.
