Insane Boats P Sport/Spec Hydro first Hull !!

Here's some shots taken today at Jeff's Insane Boat shop. Hull #1. Mark F. will set this up as a P-Sport Hydro for testing. Beautiful gelcoat finish and available in colors. Jeff is making some gorgeous hardware - check out the strut/rudder bracket Rudder will have two water pickups exiting from one barb. Boat is 30 " ; bare hull is 2 lb 5 oz. Strut/rudder bracket is 1.8 oz. I'll be testing a hull with P-Spec power soon. Stay tuned ! [ after final testing, boats will be available - hopefully a month or so]. Go to the Insane Boats website & check out the boats - FE is about to get a big shot in the arm now that Jeff's on board

COOL! Just to get this out of the way... It's a rigger, with some decking attached!

There, now it's been said. Let the infighting begin!

(by the way, it looks legal to me... I just like to cause trouble! )

We should have this boat ready for testing in another week. Right now were just waiting for the rest of the hardware to be built and then off to the lake. I will make sure Tony is there to get video when we do.

By the way Darin were hoping it runs like one too:)

Nice to see you here in the FE world Mark. I'm a old nitro and gass guy my self. One thing I like about the FE world is when one of the nitro and gas boat builders come over to FE it's customary for them to give one free boat away on OSE. Trust me I would not lie to you just pick a number and then every one posts to the thread once and ony once and that guy gets it I'm sure you will find lost of saport for this. and this guy getts boats already for free so he is out

Nice, Thats the best job of disguising a rigger I have ever seen!!

I was expecting the underside to look like a whiplash but it doesn't, I like the the way the air release is built into the hull rather than the sponsons, very innovative

Also, Tony, didn't Jeff say he would do the no gel coat thing? is that it or did he ended up gel coating?

LOVE that hardware mount. I do have a question though. How does a person seal the pushrod? Sorry I only used the round seals so far.

More details soon. The hardware in person is just fantastic, strong high grade aluminum stock, big rudder pin, reversable rudder linkage arm ; in fact the strut/rudder can be configured for right OR left rudder !

Why only 30 inches? It is too long for n so why not 33 ish?

Its 30" because its targeted more towards the P spec class. If it works great for P sport then thats just a bonus. The spec boats are fast enough now that a bigger boat is needed to keep them on the water in race conditions. This boat was designed to be stable and go fast. Time will tell.
